Dear Theater Strahl team,
I am applying for the position in press and public relations. I live in the immediate neighbourhood of your theatre. The walk is short; the more meaningful proximity lies in my professional history. For many years I worked in theatre for and with young audiences, and I would welcome the opportunity to bring that experience into the daily work of a theatre actively engaged with the present.
My professional life began on stage. After receiving my acting diploma from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main, I worked with touring companies, festivals, and state theatres, predominantly in productions for children and young people. Later came screenwriting, assisting in direction and stage design, and independent artistic practice. A continuous question connects these periods: how does an artistic idea find its form, and how does it reach the people for whom it is intended?
Today I bring that theatre experience together with writing, digital design, and software development. Through Fountain Coach I develop tools for literary editing, editorial processes, and artistic publishing. Research, writing, revision, and developing comprehensible digital publications form part of my ongoing practice.
I am especially interested in the work of translating a stage production into public communication. How does a performance become an invitation to young people? How can teachers, schools, and other communities be addressed without reducing the work to an advertising slogan? And how can communication build a lasting relationship between an audience and its theatre?
I would like to contribute to programme descriptions, newsletters, press material, social media writing, digital presentation, and everyday audience communication. I am ready to learn the specific procedures of your public-relations team and support them dependably.
Being almost next door makes this prospect attractive in an entirely practical sense, too: a walk to work, a reliable presence, and a professional relationship that can grow through the life of the institution.
I would welcome the opportunity to meet and talk.
Kind regards,
Benedikt Eickhoff
