AI and the public first draft

I am pro-AI. I consciously use it to write, translate, design and publish. And I am making this first draft public before everything is finished.

This Works site has been made with generative AI, from editorial wording and English versions to HTML, design, Linotype editions and the technical publication process. I say so plainly. It is a working method, not a secret or an apology.

What you see is a deliberately public first version. Texts, interpretations, layout and translations may change during proofreading. Making a draft visible is part of the process; it does not mean every detail has received final editorial approval.

The two theatre documents from 2023 are available as unaltered original PDFs. This statement makes no claim about which tools were used to create those historical manuscripts. The new Linotype editions frame the original sources; the new job application and its English version are current AI-assisted drafts.

I welcome AI as a creative and productive tool. But a tool does not automatically become an author or assume responsibility. Selection, meaning, limits, sources and the decision to publish or revise remain human responsibilities.

The essay Above the Line develops this position further: the ultimate measure of authorship is not the amount of manual production, but judgment, decision and responsibility.

Above the Line

Above the Line considers publishing as infrastructure under authorial authority. The argument also touches dramaturgy: choosing, shaping, rejecting, and taking responsibility. Here it offers a wider perspective, without absorbing the theatre works into a technological manifesto. Above the Line →
